If you could read one book again for the very first time…
I did an e-mail interview last night and one of the questions was:
If you could read one book again for the very first time, which one would it be?
That’s a really good question!
I mentioned it on Facebook and got a bunch of answers – Gary Gibson picked The Illuminatus Trilogy, K.W. Jeter picked Les Miserables, Jonathan Green picked Mythago Wood and, I have to confess my favourite was Jared‘s: “The issue of TV Guide in which Patrick Stewart and Cindy Crawford were voted the sexiest people of the year.”
My own answer was To Kill a Mockingbird, though I honestly don’t know if that’s right. I re-read it every few years and it’s always good, if not better than, the first time.
So what’s yours? What one book would you pick to read again for the very first time?

Ender’s Game was the book that initially popped into my head, so I’ll go with it. I also thought about A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, which amazed me in high school, but it’s been so long since I’ve read it that a re-read would probably feel like the first time anyway. Fun Question!
